I see a lot of terribly... non-steampunk steampunk drawings. Does that even make sense? What I am trying to say is that I seem to notice a lot of artists nowadays are forgetting the essential elements to the genre called steampunk and what makes its aesthetics logical.

So I guess, in contrast to that, I attempted to draw Spectrum as if she were living in a steampunk world. She has an enthusiasm for toxins and poisons. The blade on her thigh is used for polluting people's bloodstreams with venom in a more conventional matter, otherwise she has syringes and vials. I think the toxins make sense since a lot of steampunk is seen as a futuristic, possibly 'post apocalyptic' setting, and naturally, there would be dangerous substances all around. Ha.

I tried to emphasize the victorian aspect of steampunk that a lot of people ignore moreso than the uh, steam part. I felt that it suited Spectrum since she already dresses victorian gothic-esque. I may color this sketch, we'll see.

doodle poop

Nothing really good today, sorry folks.

I have been going through a bit of stress the past two weeks but fortunately now I have a 4 day weekend starting tomorrow. I'm working on a pastel zombified Bettie Paige drawing so when I get that done (its due Monday...) I'll see if I can get a good photo of it and post it up here.

flargh. If I do any more doodles, I'll post em.

This is a drawing I did of myself seeing if I could draw myself in my style. It's actually pretty accurate... but I cheated and used a mirror just so I could adjust my facial features.

I doodled me and Mike.. and I ripped off the way my friend Emily draws smiley faces. I'M SORRY :C but uh, yep. Mike is a grumpy butt because his commute sucks... :C

Another one...

Self Portrait. I used a photo reference.

A sketch of Neon in the same style as that Spectrum picture. I figured out how to upload images... thanks to Mike. Lol. So I don't have to overload my photobucket.

I wish I had more things to post. :C

Oh yea. And it seems like every time I draw Neon, he gets buffer. I think he's secretly on steroids.

A doodle...

A doodle of Spectrum I did to make this blog look less naked. I really like it actually :]

Well, I was conned into making a blog by my boyfriend, Mike.

So here I am. Expect sketches and final drawings... maybe... if I can remember.
